Arik Air ordered two 747-8 Intercontinentals, a first for Africa.
Nigeria’s Arik Air ordered two 747-8 Intercontinentals, becoming the first African customer for the type. The order was announced at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2008 but was never ultimately fulfilled.
The passenger 747-8 found very few buyers — Lufthansa was the only airline to order it in quantity. More on the Intercontinental.
