747-400D (Japan Airlines)
The Japan Airlines 747-400D domestic high-density variant.
The 747-400D — D for Domestic — built for Japanese internal routes where sectors are short and loads are heavy.
Note the wingtips: the -400D is the only 747-400 without winglets. On a one-hour sector the cruise drag they save never pays back their weight, so Japan Air Lines and All Nippon took them off. More on the 747-400D.
