The 747-8 Intercontinental left Paine Field for the first time on 20 March 2011, in the orange and red livery Boeing used throughout the flight test programme.
The aircraft flew a conservative first sortie — gear down, limited envelope, basic handling and systems checks — before returning to Everett the same day.
